Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens...

BRIGHT COPPER KETTLES AND WARM WOOLLEN MITTENS,
BROWN PAPER PACKAGES TIED UP WITH STRINGS,
THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS...

Well...not really...

I was born with a talent for bargain hunting. Op shopping is one of my favourite hobbies, and I usually go once a week. I know all of the good shops in Newcastle, and never come home empty handed. I always manage to find something to fall in love with. However, sometimes I find gold, and these are my favourite moments of all. I love the feeling of sifting through a rack of boring, daggy clothing, and then stumbling across something amazing. Plus, it is also a pretty amazing feeling knowing your money is going to charity as well.

I thought I would do a list of my top five op shop finds...

1. Konica C35EF3 - $5
I found this just over a week ago, at Samaritans. I was pretty stoked to find it. I did some research and it is a model from the 80's. I have used up one roll of film already, and it appears to be in fine working order, even though I haven't had time to get the film developed yet.

2. Vintage Doctor's (??) Case - $25
I found this a couple of months ago. It holds everything you could possibly ever need to carry around with you, and the lip snaps open in place so that you can get things out easier. It is my favourite bag.

3. 80's Koala Jumper - $2.50
I found this on Saturday, at St. Vincent de Paul. I fell in love with it instantly, especially the little koalas on the elbows. I was overjoyed when I tried it on and it wasn't itchy, because I am allergic to wool. (I think it is an acrylic blend, so it will be okay). It is so baggy and warm!
Did I mention that it has koalas on the elbows? IT IS AMAZING! My daggy jumper is automatically cooler than your daggy jumper.

4. Hedgehog Brooch - $6
This was also purchased on Saturday, while out op shopping with Liv. There is a retro/costume place in Mayfield (incidentally, the same place that I got the Doctor's Case from) that I absolutely love. I sqeeeeeeeed a little bit when I found this there, as hedgehogs are one of my favourite animals. Also, it is relevant to my Monday night Dnd, as my cleric character worships the Hedgehog God.

5. Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake Record - $1
I found this earlier in the year. I don't even know if it works properly or not yet. Not many people know it, but I love the ballet, and Swan Lake is definitely one of my favourite stories.

just a question for you what is your background meant to be? for some reason it reminds me of the tardis

It is the tardis. It is the painting from season 5, how Van Gogh painted the tardis exploding.
